Any shop or commercial entity that commences its business operation in India must apply for the Shop Act License within the prescribed time limit to run its business smoothly.     The main objective of the Shop Act is to safeguard the interest of employees such as payment of wages, bonuses, holidays, hours of work, opening hours, closing hours, maternity leaves, annual leaves, overtime work, rules for employment of children’s, closed days, national holidays, religious holidays, terms and conditions of work, leaves, and many more, and other working conditions of employees working in the shop and commercial establishment.
